Dear colleagues, fly fishing friends, it is a great honor for us that we have the opportunity to organize the World Championship in fly fishing, the royal discipline of sport fishing, in the Czech republic again after 11 years in May 2025. In 2024, we hosted the WC in the categories of ladies, masters and juniors, and it was an important test for the entire organizational team. We hope that the organization of the upcoming senior World Cup will therefore be a little easier. The center of the championship will be the Wellness Hotel Frymburk, which has a very advantageous position due to the location of the competition sectors and it will also provide all participants with comfortable facilities.
We hope competitors enjoy fishing diverse sectors which will test all fly fishing skills. Three sectors will be marked on the Vltava River (Loučovice Devil stones, Vyšší Brod, Rožmberk), the next sector will be a boat competiton on the Lipno II reservoir in Vyšší Brod. We are very happy that we have reached an agreement with the West Bohemian Board of the CRS and Rybářství Klatovy s.r.o. and we will also organize one sector on the Otava River. We will provide the competitors with another interesting experience and challenge, the center of the sector will be the Ottava 6 trophy section. We will also enable the involvement of members of the surrounding local organizations in the course of the championship in the role of controllers. The Květoňov reservoir and the Volyňka river will be reserve sectors in case of high water. The detailed program and description of the sectors can be found below, we are also preparing further follow-up events for spectators and visitors. We believe that you too will take advantage of this opportunity and visit beautiful and interesting places in the vicinity of fly fishing competitions, because the whole of southern and western Bohemia is worth a visit. We apologize to ordinary anglers for the short-term restriction of sport fishing on the affected areas and hope that this will be compensated by the increased stocking paid for from the championship budget.
On behalf of the organizing committee of the WC, we would like to invite all those interested in top fly fishing to either participate in the role of controllers, or come to watch the competitions, or follow them via the Internet and social networks. We believe that we will manage to organize this event to the satisfaction of all participants.
