It is an honor and a privilege for me to address you at this very special moment, as we welcome participants, authorities, and fans from around the world to this edition of the World Master Fly Fishing Championship in Asturias.
Our region, with its unparalleled natural beauty and deep roots in fishing, is proud once again to host an event of this magnitude. This is not the first time that Asturias has become the world epicenter of fishing. In 2018, we already had the honor of hosting a Masters Championship in this discipline, and in 2022, we witnessed the Absolute World Championship. Today, we continue this tradition with the same enthusiasm and commitment as always.
This championship is not only a competition, but also a celebration of sportsmanship, passion for fishing, and respect for our rivers and ecosystems. I wish all participants the greatest success in this challenging and exciting competition. May each cast and each catch reflect the effort, dedication, and mastery that characterizes this type of fishing.
